First Time in the Big Pool!

Jay and I are in Eden for the week.  On Saturday, we went over to my Uncle Steve's and Aunt Julie's for dinner.  While there, I took Jay in their inground pool.  It was his first time in a pool with me and he loved it!  He was kicking his legs and waving his arms around, like he was trying to swim.  He kept putting his face in the water and then would pull it out wearing a big smile.  Of course, then he started trying to drink the pool water.  He's a little fish!

A little video Aunt Lisa took:

After swimming in the pool, we relaxed in the hot tub (it was a cool enough temperature, don't worry!)

Aunt Becky gave him a new hairstyle.  I'm not so sure about it.  Not sure why it posted sideways either.

We had a great time at Steve and Julie's and it's clear that we'll be visiting the neighborhood pool this summer!

Jay - 8 Months!

Jay is 8 months old!  He's sooo much fun these days.  This past weekend he really started crawling up a storm.  He crawled all the way from the back livingroom to the front diningroom.  When Justin dropped Jay off at daycare this morning, he immediately crawled over to another child and took their toy.  Uh oh!  Here's a good video of him crawling from this weekend:

He's been eating the purees really well and we've even been testing out some whole foods.  He's had cheerios, blueberries, banana and watermelon so far.  He seemed to really like the watermelon, just like his dad :)  I don't have any good pictures of him feeding himself, but here's a cute one of Justin feeding Jay:

Last week Jay had a bout of hand, foot and mouth disease, which was a bit unpleasant.  He was sent home from daycare on Tuesday because he'd thrown up and developed a fever.  The fever persisted until Wednesday morning.  Then, he started developing red bumps on his face, arms and legs.  I was so afraid it was chickenpox.  We kept him home Thursday too and the spots increased and he developed a lot on his hands and feet.  We went to the doctor and it was confirmed that it was HFMD, which is waaay better than chickenpox.  He got it from daycare and was allowed to return to daycare on Friday.  You can see some of the spots on his face in this picture:

A bunch of other recent pictures:

This coming weekend, Jay and I will be heading to Eden for a weeklong visit.  I am so excited for my family to see him.  They haven't since February, so he is going to be a completely different baby to them!  I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures :)
