Brody turned 10 months old back on April 1st. Double-digits! Before we know it his first birthday will be here!
He is such a delight these days. He's full of smiles and, oh, those dimples! He thinks Jay is hilarious and laughs at his antics often. Brody is also quite the talker. Most of it is gibberish, but he has definitely mastered saying Mama/Mom. He also said dog a couple of weeks ago, but we haven't heard him say it since.
He's certainly very interested in whatever Jay does, but he's also great at going off and exploring and playing on his own. Or perhaps he's found that it's easier to keep whatever toy he's playing with if Jay is in another room! The boys are often fighting over toys these days. Lots of tugging matches and tears. Justin and I have to intervene often so no one gets hurt. In spite of the toy struggles, they do have fun together as well. They can play so sweetly with the cars and the toy house. They also enjoy their baths together. Lots and lots of splashing. I really need to get a poncho for bath nights.
Some tidbits about Brody:
-He's getting his 3rd tooth (started coming in on April 1st). It's the upper left lateral incisor, which is not what tooth we expected to come in next! We expected his two upper front teeth to come in next, as that's the usual order of appearance for baby teeth. Every baby is different though, of course. If his upper right lateral incisor comes in next, he'll have fangs! Too bad it's not closer to Halloween :)
-He's wearing 12 months and 18 months clothing.
-He's moving into size 4 diapers.
-He likes to take his socks off and put them in his mouth. Justin's gotten him to daycare to find him barefoot and with soggy socks. Silly boy.
-He loves his burp rags. He shoves them in his mouth and buries his face in them. This has been the case for many months. When we put him to sleep, the burp rag goes in with him and he pulls it over his face and then waves his arms about and jabbers. Kind of freaked out one of our babysitters the first time she put him to bed in his crib! He found his dresser drawer with the burp rags in it and proceeded to pull them all out and put each one in his mouth. Little weirdo :) At least we won't need to break him from a pacifier though!
-He loves to dance to music. He'll pretty much dance to any catchy kids tune that he hears, but he especially seems to love the Hot Dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He stops what he's doing and starts wiggling his hips and shaking his hands. If he's standing he'll start bopping up and down.
-He's great a standing up these days and has successfully walked a little bit with the push cart. He's getting around great with just crawling though and is quite speedy.
-He's more of a climber than Jay ever was. I think we'll be putting the crib to it's lowest setting soon.
There's lots more I could write about Brody, but this is already getting pretty long. Time for a few pictures!
