Nearly 6 weeks ago!!!
On June 1st, we welcomed Brody Mitchell to the world! He was born at 11:10am and was 8 pounds 13 ounces and 21.5 inches long. My labor was 9 hours long and was largely uneventful. The excitement came at the end when Brody nearly slipped off the table after being delivered. That was a bit of a scary moment!
The last 6 weeks have really flown by. Brody's a pretty good baby, I think. He's got his fussy moments for sure (the past few days have been especially trying), but overall I think he's easier for us than Jay was. I'm sure it's a combination of his temperament and our experience. Speaking of Jay, he is adjusting wonderfully to having a baby brother. He pretty much ignored him in the beginning and he did get a bit sad when he couldn't have our attention immediately, but now he seems to realize that "baby" is here to stay and he has been showing a lot more interest in him. He likes to touch and name different body parts on Brody and has even tried giving him toys.
Brody went for his one month check up back on July 1st. All was well. He weighed in at 10 pounds 15.2 ounces and was 22.5 inches. He's been eating like a champ and we're thinking he must be approaching 13 pounds now. He gets very heavy to hold!
