Brody turned 18 months old on December 1st. Here are some facts and tidbits about the
little guy at this age:
Weight: 27 pounds
Height: 34 inches
Number of Teeth: 12
Clothing Size: 18 months and 24 months
Diaper Size: Pampers 4 and 5
Favorite Things: Jay, reading books,
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Monsters Inc., playing with cars, being silly, his burp
rags (he chews them, wears them as capes or scarves and puts them on his head
to pretend he’s a ghost), bubble baths, giving kisses, doing puzzles
Brody is pretty agile these days, but he still
has his occasional falls. Last month he fell at school and banged his ear on a wooden chair. His poor ear was so swollen and then was a
nasty black and blue for a bit over a week.
He’s getting good at climbing onto chairs and the couch on his own. He gets such a big grin on his face when he
does it himself.
His favorite words by far are Jay and No. For awhile he was calling everyone Jay and he
would yell “No, Jay!” instead of just yelling “No!” He’s putting together words a little
bit. For example, he’ll say “Bye,
Daddy.” He’s still great with his animal
sounds. He even does pretty well saying
“Cock a doodle doo!” Brody has gotten
much better at communicating his wants and needs, even if he doesn’t know how
to say the words.
He’s still a pretty good eater. His favorite fruit is blueberries. He can down a lot of blueberries in a very
short amount of time. It’s impressive. I think his favorite dinner food right now is
pizza and he’s very cute when he says the word.
He also really loves pasta, especially macaroni and cheese. He does ok using a fork and spoon, but when
he’s really hungry, utensils are too much work, so he just shovels the food in
with his hand. It’s a messy process!
Brody is, according to his teachers, the class
clown of the group. He loves to make the
other kids laugh. He’s the same way at
home, always making funny faces or doing silly things to see if he’ll get a
reaction. His teacher, Ashley, told me a
very funny story about Brody. He likes
to take puppets at school and try to scare his classmates by coming up to them
and saying “Roar” while waving the puppet at them. Well, one day he was trying to scare one of
the boys with a puppet that had longer hair.
When he waved the puppet at the boy, the puppet’s hair brushed against
Brody’s face and he ended up scaring himself!
He jumped, threw the puppet and fell onto his behind! Too funny!
